YAY, finally Mozenrath is back on the blog!
Atypical face angle for me, seems to have turned out well, but it's as if some resemblance to the original has been lost.

I don't forget about the girls😏
My dear Saleen🧡
I love this colour scheme)

Unexpected guests - for the first time on my artwork on my blog, the dark sorcerer Khartoum (from the animated series Aladdin) and one of the forty thieves, Mujahideen (from the third film).
However, they owe their appearance on my blog to @auditect and @welcometothefourtythieves

Return of Jafar - Rewrite (Intro/Teaser)
“Oh I’ve come to this land, to this magical place, to where caravan camels roam…” The breeze passing over the vast desert dunes joined in like a shushed chorus as the man sung into the night. “Where they cut off your ear if they don’t like your face, it’s barbaric and I love it so.”
The man was dressed in a drab washed-out gray shirt and pants combo with a far-too-small blue jacket for the slightest amount of color. He smiled warmly, drawing attention, and confusion, from the scruffy bandits huddled over a small dying fire.
“Frigid winds from the east, burning sun in the west, bag of gems I just stole held tight.” Despite the man’s short and largely overweight nature, he didn’t slow or falter as he marched up the hill towards a single sun-bleached tent. “Come on down, stop on by, steal a camel and ride… to another Arabian Niiiiiiight!”
He stopped to scratch under the chin of a two-humped camel laying down. “Let’s do this.”
The short scruffy man threw open the worn-out cloth doors and stomped inside. There were two people inside: an tall African man in an off-white robe with a blue-green shawl and a teenage girl, dressed in fine pink satin, gagged and tied to the tent’s center pole. The African man hid a grimace and put away his sword.
“Sooooo, what have we got here?” The singing man huffed, hands on hips.
The guard rolled his eyes. “This is the Zudanian princess.” He waved to the girl. “Remember? The one you said had to be the ‘Diamond in the Rough’ from the Cave of Wonder legend because she comes from ‘Zudan: The Land of Diamonds’?”
“Right, right, right.” The short man waved the taller man’s words away. “Well, I’ve decided I don’t wanna wait anymore. So untie the princess and let’s get moving.”
“Haroud!” The canvas curtain doors flew open again and an equally short, fat man stomped in. “I’ve decided I don’t wanna wait anymore! So untie the princess and--” The fat man blinked. There was an exact copy of him standing in front of him.
The first fat man snorted before speaking, “Well, one of us is going to have to change.”
The second fat man looked down at his clothes, “But I woke up like this.”
“Yes,” The first man smiled with a condescending and now-feminine-sounding voice “and we’re all very sorry for you.”
Haroud drew his sword and grabbed the first man. The man’s appearance shuddered and collapsed in a plume of dust. In the man’s place was a woman, 30s with a deep tan, in a pale-gold flowing robe with a bright green body-length scarf pinned around her neck by a stoney medallion.
Haroud gasped. “You! The nomad!”
“Wait a minute…” The short man spoke as slowly as his brain was working. “I know you! You’re that freaky magic lady I ran outta Shiabad!”
The woman rolled her eyes. “No, Abis Mal, I’m the freaky magic lady that branded your left buttcheek with a hot iron… and then ran YOU out of Shiabad.” She huffed hard, spitting a plume of black smoke in Haroud’s face before running to the princess. In a flash, a dagger cut the ropes and the two women ran out of the tent.
“Hey wait!” Abis Mal threw open the tent door to follow and got kicked in the gut by a camel.
“Stop them!” Haroud shouted “She’s stealing the princess!”
“We… stole her…. First!” Abis Mal choked out before collapsing.
The older woman heaved the princess onto the camel’s back and grabbed the reins. She got yanked back by her scarf. “You thought it would be that easy, woman?” Haroud sneered.
A cobra lashed out from under the green scarf with a hiss and the man jumped back with a yelp. “Thanks, Mitr.” The woman sighed before jumping on the camel. “YAH!
The princess clutched to the galloping camel’s back, clinging to the odd tied rope and rolled up carpets that made something of a flat surface between the camel’s humps. She wasn’t supposed to be here. The noise of the various kinds of junk this beast was hauling made her gentle heart race even harder. She dared to look behind them. Men in the night were mounting horses. “They’re coming!” she yelled at the older woman.
“They’re not the problem!” The woman answered. The camel veered and started stomping down a steep dune diagonally. “The problem is I don’t have the supplies to get you back to Zudan from here. Anywhere close that would know you?”
The princess's hands shook from the bumpy ride. “I’m sorry! I don’t know where I am!” The girl shrieked as the camel shifted to flatter land, barely managing to not fail by finding a foothold on some rod tied to the side. "All the sand looks the same!"
The nomad rolled her eyes. “Then just start naming places you know you’ll be safe!”
A shrill neigh made both women look up. Several men on horseback crested the high desert dune and started charging straight down. The nomad huffed. She put a hand over the stony medallion on her shoulder and held the other hand out. The hidden rune on the stone surface glowed. A lane of sand on the dune brightened up and in an instant started running straight down as if it was water.
The horses cried out as their footing slipped, sending their riders tumbling down. The woman clutched the medallion and a whirling of sand wrapped around a pure black horse and righted it back to its feet. The horse was brought to a stop at the bottom by the dune, rearing as the sorceress took its reins. “You. Get on!” She nodded towards the horse. The princess nervously let go and managed to climb onto the horse properly with some decorum.
“Allied nations! Go!” The woman barked, snapping her camel’s reins.
The princess gently kicked her horse to follow. “Um… Corkistan… Odiferous… Shiabab, Agra--”
“Shiabab’s closest.”
The women turned sharply and went west. Under the dim lighting of the moon, rocky walls slowly came into view. “We’re going to get trapped against that mountain!”
“It’s not a mountain.” The older woman stated.
Coming even closer, a cave with two carved camel statues on either side quickly arrived and was passed by the women. The flooring was smooth and slowly ramped downward. The walls were clearly carved out but centuries of standing against desert winds left almost every intricate detail lost to time.
The moonlight welcomed the two ladies from the tunnel. The younger woman looked around, towering faintly red stone as far as the eye could see “A canyon?” The princess asked. “But why?”
“Crossroad Canyon, bubbie. You can get anywhere in the Seven Deserts from here.” The older woman turned her camel to the left.
Clattering from the tunnel. A lot of somethings with hooves were rapidly approaching. “They’re coming!”
“We’re going.”
Up the canyon, til they passed a star-shaped shadow; the shadow of a sculpture erected high at the very beginning of the massive chasm. The horse and camel tore through another cave opening, this time, charging up a ramp that was actually lit up with wall torches.
“This way!” A man bellowed.
“They’re gaining!” The princess cried.
“I know, they’re not being quiet!”
The two women broke out of the tunnel in full dash, returning to cold air and shifting sands. The nomad halted her camel and got off. The princess stopped her horse. “What are you doing?”
The older woman untied a pouch and a satchel and tossed them to the princess. “These are all the supplies I got. They’ll get you to Shiabab.”
“... but…”
The sorceress slid a long rod out of her pack and ran her hand over the top. The statue of a sleeping cobra coiled around the top of the staff shined in the moonlight. She walked back towards where they came. “I’ll hold them off. Just go straight from here and you’ll be in Shiabab soon enough.”
The princess turned her horse around. “Please, madam. Whoever you are, I must know your name so I may tell my people of my savior.”
The older woman stopped. “I hold no family name as my own. Nor any nation as my home. I am only a nomad of the sand.”
The princess held back her forming tears. “Brave Nomad. You will never be forgotten for your deeds today. That I promise. My people will--”
“I’m just fighting off bandits, bubbie” The nomad looked back, arms motioning widely. “This is not a special occasion for me. It’s important to me that you know that.”
The princess sputtered. “Well… I’m not used to this!”
“Just go already, Kid!”
The princess took a deep breath before kicking her horse again, disappearing over an endless sea of dunes into the night.
“Remember: just go STRAIGHT!” The nomad yelled. She watched as the trail of sand kicked up by the princess settled. “Balavaan, give me room.” The camel groaned before turning around and moving off to the side. She put both hands up. The horses were getting closer. Left hand on the stone medallion. Right hand holding the staff. The medallion lit up. The nomad closed her eyes. The galloping was getting louder.
She brought the staff close to the medallion and the snake’s eyes opened, glowing a bright yellow, its mouth opening slightly. The glow of the medallion drifted away from the stone and into the staff. She pulled the staff away and took it in both hands. As the bandits reached the top of the dune, she thrust it into the sands.
The ground shifted and the sands started swirling before the woman. As the men got close the sands were churning like a whirlpool, circling and swirling into a deepening void beneath the surface. The horde stopped before the sight, but the sands crept closer. Horses reared in fright but before they could turn, the sands slipped from under them and they, and their rider fell into the sandy tide.
The Nomad’s camel whined and backed away. Soon the tide pulled the sand from under the staff and the Nomad fell. The woman turned onto her stomach and her feet got pulled under. “Balavaan!” The beast bellowed and stuck its neck out towards his master. The sand sucked down the nomad’s legs. The edge of the whirling sands expanded and the land started falling away from the camel’s feet. The camel gave a panicked gargle and backed up. “BALAVAAN!”
The sand was up to her waist. She saw her camel hop onto a rock pile and bellow out to her again. The pressure by her feet changed. It was… lighter. It had to be… The nomad took a deep breath before pulling her scarf over her mouth and nose and pushing herself down.
Beneath the sands, she could barely make out muffled yelling, panicking motions pushing through the waves. The pressure got lighter, lighter, lighter before giving way. The yelling of the men rang clear as everyone fell through the ceiling in a cloud of sand. The nomad watched as the men beneath her crashed into the edge of a high cliff before tumbling silently into the blackness below. She hit the ridge squarely in the center.
----
The princess pulled back on the reins and looked out into the night. Nothing. No noise, no movement. She sighed and took a sip from the pouch the woman gave her. Just go straight. Just go straight. Just--
“Hiya!”
The princess let out a scream and covered her head.
“Whoa whoa whoa, relax. I’m friendly.” The young man continued.
The princess looked around. No one.
“Up here.”
The princess looked up. The young man was on a flying purple carpet. A small skinny monkey popped its head over the edge of the carpet and tipped its tiny fez with a squawk.
“Are you Princess Dia’mah?”
The princess shrunk nervously. “Tell me who you are first.”
“I’m Aladdin.” The young man’s carpet lowered to the princess’s level. “This is Carpet… the carpet.” The flying rug’s tassel made a small polite wave. “And this is Abu.” The monkey let out a little squeak that sounded very close to ‘hello’. “Now your turn.”
“I am Princess Dia’mah.” The girl answered shyly. “I’m supposed to go to Shiabab.”
“Shiabab?” Aladdin asked. “Don’t you wanna go back to Zudan?”
“The… lady that saved me said it was too far to go straight to Zudan. But the Sultan of Shiabab will know me. He’ll see me home safely.”
“Lady?”
The princess looked behind her. She couldn’t see anything in the dark of the night. “A… nomadic woman saved me. She even gave me all her supplies to make sure I made it. Now, I worry she’ll meet her end out here because of me.”
Aladdin gave a smile and reached out to the princess. “Listen, I know Nomads seem weird to city people like us, but they know their stuff. They wouldn’t give up their supplies unless they were sure they could reach the next oasis on their own. The woman will be fine. Now, come on, I'll help get you to Shiabab.” The carpet started flying forward. ”If we’re fast, we might be able to get there before the sun gets too high.”
The princess took one last look behind her. Nothing. She sighed and flicked the reins.
---
Silence. The waves of water far below fell still a while ago, the bodies they claimed decidedly sunk to the bottom. The only sound was a scaley body running over fabric and dirt.
The cobra stood up, tongue flicking. This wasn’t working. Mitr ran his long black-and-gold body under the woman’s nose. Nothing. He grabbed the woman’s messy barely-even-still-tied ponytail in his mouth and shook as hard as he could. Nothing. He gave a loud long hiss in her ear. Nothing. Ok, time for The Big No-No. The cobra stood tall and opened his mouth wide. He pulled his long fangs in so they stayed pointed towards his throat and lunged at the lady. He bit her nose bluntly and put as much pressure as he could on it.
The woman groaned softly. The snake quickly pulled off the woman and lowered to her level. Slowly the nomad pulled her hands closer and pushed herself upright. Her eyes opened slowly. “Hey buddy,” she said weakly. She held out her hand and the serpent gladly ran itself up her arm. “Did I scare you? I’m sorry.”
She leaned towards her staff, flinching as a wave of pain ran through her upper body. “Lovely…” She pushed through and used the staff to stand up. She gave Mitr a gentle nuzzle before letting the snake vanish under the folds of her scarf. “Now… where’d I almost die this time.”
There wasn’t much to look at. Big cave. Very dark. Cold but it was the desert in the middle of the night which, frankly, was the most normal thing going on at this point. The ceiling was made of sand, any trace of the sorceress’s disruption on the surface now long gone.
The stone pillars trailed downward towards the water’s edge where the nomad could see a faint light in the distance. The intricately carved entrance-way led to a vast room, bright and glittering with mounds upon mounds of gold in every imaginable form. Pots, plates, coins, bars, statues, even gateways several stories high that stood without walls on any side.
The snake of the woman’s staff gave a metallic hiss and its eyes opened with a deep dangerous red glow. The woman looked. She passed the snake so it stared at a smaller mound of gold. The red glow intensified. She pulled it away and pointed it to the bare ground. The red faded somewhat. “Oh this gold is Cursed cursed.” She chuckled. Her eyes went wide with a gasp. “Which means there must be something REALLY good in the back!”
The cobra poked its head out with a quick hiss.
“You hush. I’m the one with legs and I say we go that way!” She waved her staff towards the thin trail weaving around the gold and quickened her pace.
The mounds of cursed treasure were soon replaced by twisted pillars of stone that formed a maze in the near total darkness. The staff’s eye’s changed from red to yellow. The woman followed where the glow was most focused and slipped through a rough looking crack in the wall.
This new room was nothing less than massive, so much so that most sultans palaces would easily fit inside. Before her was a small trail of stones poking out of perfectly still waters, leading to a grand incline where the tiniest red light flickered. “Yeesh, did the egyptians make this?” The woman grumbled “What’s with all the steps? I already got past the cursed part.”
She looked away in annoyance and glanced upon a large golden grinning gorilla statue, clutching a ruby the size of a watermelon. “Well, THAT’S not bait.” She announced sarcastically. She jokingly flipped up her satchel’s cover. “Guess I better grab that and--”
The cobra shot out of the scarf, hood wide open, and gave a loud hiss.
“Mitr.” She smiled. “Relax. You’ll live longer.” She dropped her bag cover and jumped to the stepping stones. Across the water and up the rocky stairs, the air getting colder and colder as she ascended. The final few steps and the woman let a grin grow on her face in anticipation.
Finally, the prize stood before her. On the smooth stone pedestal, a pure black oil lamp burning with a tiny yellow flame from what the nomad would call a ‘regally upturned nose’ of a spout, its handle reminding her of a spoiled Roman nobel’s pursed lips.
“Great Shiva…” She gasped. The staff snake’s eyes turned white and the mouth opened wide. The woman hesitated before inching the staff closer. The staff started pulling tiny embers into its mouth, not just from the lamp’s flame but its body as well. That didn’t seem like a good thing. She snapped the staff’s mouth closed and hooked the head so it hung from her satchel safely.
Mitr hissed, brushing his body against his owner’s chin.
She rubbed her hands together and tenderly picked up the lamp. She looked carefully at the engravings on the lamp’s foot. Intricate curves and strokes that felt like every letter of a different language rolled into a single form. In a blink, the swirls changed shape and order. “Djinn-speak. It’s real!” She carefully put her hand under the spout as if supporting a newborn’s head. Her heart surged, finger’s dancing on the cold brass surface. “Let’s do this.”
Mitr gave another loud objection, slinking down the woman’s arms and blocking the lamp with his hood.
“Look, if you were stuck in a lamp, wouldn’t you want someone to at least let you out so you can stretch and get some air?”
The cobra huffed and slowly lowered his head.
“Yes, yes you would. Now, hush.”
The nomad smiled and snuffed out the small flame with a stiff blow. Her eager grin returned as she slowly rubbed the lamp under the spout. The warm gray smoke where the flame had been shifted into a bright red that surged with heat and embers. The woman clutched the shuddering lamp and the smoke trail grew into a towering plume many times the woman’s size.
Her broad smile only faltered as a deep and devious maniacal laughter started filling the room.

Author's note: I've had the idea to rewrite Return of Jafar since... well, since I first sat down and watched Return of Jafar and this little segment is to gauge if anyone would be interested in the fully story. It's been too long since I wrote anything and this hyperfixation's gotta be good for SOMETHING.

Remaking (some of) Disney's straight-to-video animated sequels
This is kind of a spur of the moment idea, but I thought I'd share my vision of certain STDVD sequels of Disney films--but only sequels to films I liked. In the ideal situation, the animation would've been better (at least as good as TLK 2 and Cinderella 3), and bringing back the original songwriting team, too--when available. Plus the non-European sequels aren't as severely westernized and modernized/anachronistic here like they ended up being in the OTL. Most of Disney's STDVD films were skippable, but I'm gonna try to salvage these. Gonna have to do some guesswork since I don't have a lot of production notes on these films. I'm not aiming for critical acclaim; I'm just aiming for "better than what we got" (through my POV, of course). And note: this does NOT run congruent with my remake of the renaissance and post-renaissance eras.
The Return of Jafar--Fairly similar, but has it's differences. Co-director Tad Stones' desire to focus on Iago isn't heeded (or never existed in the first place), instead focusing on Aladdin and Jasmine as with the first film. Aladdin still longs for more adventures, but the subplot of Jasmine taking on more royal duties is introduced, and as the one with royal blood "in contrast to the street rat," it puts a wedge between their relationship as she spends a lot of time away from him. The character of Nasira is also introduced here (in contrast to six years later), and she frees Jafar instead of Abis Mal, and they tag team to further drive the team apart. Genie, in an odd twist, cannot intervene with Jafar's plans due to being a free genie, and cannot harm imprisoned ones, and Nasira is too slippery to catch, so he teams up with an ignored Iago to help him--though his powers are still diminished like in the original sequel. Nasira and Jafar disguise themselves as Jasmine and Aladdin, going to the other half of the couple as heartbroken and angry lovers that push the duo even further apart, particularly Jasmine, who is enraged at Aladdin not confiding his dissatisfaction with his life as her betrothed. In a final ploy, "Aladdin" is caught trying to poison the sultan, and is sentenced to death, with "Jasmine" spectating the execution. Seeing how disgusted he is with the royal family, Nasira uses up her wishes for Jafar to return to the lamp for Aladdin to find, and Jafar disguises himself to avoid suspicion. While originally deceiving Aladdin into trusting him and plotting revenge, Aladdin catches Nasira speaking with Jafar, and noticed how similar her mannerisms and way of speaking were to "Jasmine," being more sophisticated and snobby. As such, he asks the genie to make Jasmine love him, and Jafar is unable to do so, surprised at the request. While he tries to persuade Aladdin to make a different wish, Iago alerts Jasmine of the trickery, and with genie's help, subdues Nasira. With only his final wish left, Aladdin wishes both Jafar and Nasira were trapped in the lamp and banished to a place where no one could access it. Forced to comply, the two disappear, and Jasmine formally proposes to Aladdin (since the monarch usually has the right of way for this), which he accepts, having come to appreciate the political moves she's made to better the sultanate, and promises to be by her side as she's been by his, and will be more honest with her going forward.
Aladdin and the King of Thieves--This film would borrow from the tv show (though I don't remember every detail, so be patient if I'm incorract). The staff that the 40 thieves try to find in Agrabah is actually a staff akin to Jafar's serpent staff, though it can hypnotize much more than one person at a time, with the perceived goal to be able to rule Agrabah or rob it (nobody's sure which). Sadira manages to track down who possesses the staff and if any still exist locally, which Aladdin destroys promptly. Sadira uses her knowledge of the thieves to discern their whereabouts, and she goes with Aladdin to explain the situation. Cassim doesn't trick Aladdin, but flat-out refuses to return to a normal life, since his family died from poverty and vows to live on with their memory, and wants to take revenge on the royal family of Agrabah in retaliation for not helping them in their time of need. It's revealed that Mozenrath pointed the thieves in Agrabah's direction, hiring them to conquer it via uniting the common people against the royal family--which has already started happening due to the increased poverty rates. Sadira discovers that Cassim is Aladdin's father, and that Mozenrath used the blue rose of forgetfulness in order to control him as well as the other thieves. When Sadira tries to tell Aladdin, Mozenrath uses the rose on him and offers him to her as a bribe for not interfering with his plans, which Sadira seemingly accepts. Iago needles Cassim with questions until being able to discern his true identity, as well as poking holes in the narrative Mozenrath gave him. Though the spell hasn't fully worn off, Cassim is suspicious of Mozenrath and invades Agrabah in order to get his guard down. With Jasmine's eloquency and genie's magic, they're able to calm down the people with promises to fix the poverty (and no, genie's powers can't do all that now). The thieves lose their nerves at the speech, and Mozenrath, in a rage, decides to kill Aladdin. Sadira takes an attack from him and Cassim battle shim while Jasmine reverses the spell on Aladdin, allowing them to defeat him. Deciding that they're done with him for good, the team comes to the consensus to give Mozenrath a blue rose of his own and keep him in Agrabah under supervision, hoping that he, like Cassim and Iago, can make a fresh start from villainy.
(And the wedding looks take heavy influence from the outfits Jasmine and Aladdin wear in the finale of the first film, just more formal)
Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World--A bit more refined than what we got. Nakoma joins Pocahontas on her venture to England, and her husband is named Uttamatomakkin and appointed their bodyguard (based on my readings that the actual Uttamatomakkin was Pocahontas' brother-in-law and Nakoma is like a sister to her, anyway). John Rolfe isn't as overtly sexist, and is rather aloof to Pocahontas, believing that it's best to be pragmatic as a diplomat and still having reservations about her due to their cultural differences (though he's still civil, being a diplomat and all). Pocahontas gives John Rolfe a crop as a gift--can it be tobacco, or would that be read as bad for kids?--which he plants on his land and becomes enamored with. The natives' time in England is over the course of several months, in which Nakoma and Uti learn English, and Pocahontas undergoes the rigorous education for a woman of the time, which Mrs. Jenkins says is especially made to her "as a princess" (though obviously the title is foreign to her). Slowly, John's walls come down, and the two become less cool with each other, bonding over reading and childhood stories, even sharing a spiritual moment (though it's vague so it doesn't create controversy). John Rolfe, being less bold and adventurous than John Smith, is unable to articulate his feelings and is flustered by Pocahontas, and she interprets this as him not liking her because she's too different. At the ball, they realize their feelings for one another, though Pocahontas asks him if she likes who she is now, and they are interrupted before he can respond. Upon Pocahontas and her friends' imprisonment, the film takes from the original's "Savages" sequence as well as "The Mob Song" from "Beauty and the Beast" with the people of London preparing to go to war against the natives, with the common people storming the tower of London to kill Pocahontas themselves. John Smith appears, and Rolfe takes advantage of the confusion to make an impassioned plea to the townspeople, noting how Pocahontas changed everything about herself, and yet they only saw when she made mistakes. He then says that she isn't a mistake at all, and Smith and Pocahontas reconcile and discuss their differences. Smith comes to the conclusion that their love was the result of passion, in contrast to the slow build of her relationship with Rolfe. She refuses to call their relationship simple passion, but he frees the trio and says they can discuss it another time. The rest of the film is mostly the same, but Pocahontas doesn't disavow traveling, just wanting to be stationary for a short time. Upon everyone returning to Jamestown, Smith accepts her love for Rolfe, but tells her that whenever she wants to journey, he will follow, and Pocahontas and Rolfe openly express their love for each other.
The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea--Major overhaul, since it basically rips off the original. In this film, Ariel and Eric's families are explored a bit more. Ariel's mother's death is revealed here, and how Ariel wonders if her relationship with Melody could've been better if she had grown up with Athena. Attina has become Queen of Atlantica, with Triton retiring despite Ariel's pleas to become human and visit her on land. She has become increasingly busy as a queen, but takes to it with fervor, and Eric growing up without his parents makes him attentive to Melody (and while Ariel loves Melody, she's so caught up in her own life that she hasn't fully integrated her daughter into her own, not having developed empathy with her yet). Morgana, rather than Ursula's sister, is a human who uses her son to charm Melody into feeling liked and appreciated as a princess rather than used for politics or making an embarrassment of herself. Meanwhile, Morgana acts as a surrogate mother to Melody, seemingly consoling her when she fights with Ariel, but actually fueling her insecurities until Melody accidentally reveals the existence of merpeople when playing with some merkids early in the morning. When she reveals her dream of running away, Morgana witnesses Attina turning Triton into a human to surprise Ariel, and concocts a plan. After Melody convinces her aunt to turn her, Morgana, and her son into merpeople as a goodwill gift to the surface world, Morgana slinks around Atlantica until able to seize the Triton and rule the seas, a larger territory than Eric and Ariel's kingdom. As humans, Ariel, Triton, and Eric are unable to reach Morgana and stop her, so Melody does battle against her, with Morgana's son being conflicted at his mother's treacherous acts. For a moment, Attina regains the trident and turns the trio into merpeople, though Morgana takes it back and returns her to stone. Mad with power, Ariel and Eric have a talk with Melody while in hiding, with Triton giving her and Ariel some comforting words. Morgana is defeated and returned to land for imprisonment and Attina, feeling sorry for her son, adopts him as her own, while Melody and her family return to human form (save Triton), and she feels much more confident, especially since she just saved her kingdom.
Oh, and Melody's mermaid design is better than what we got.
The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning--Rather than a prequel, this serves as a follow-up to the second film, though Ariel is once again the star. This film follows her visiting her sisters as a mermaid, and connecting with all of them after so long. It's also found that while Triton is content with being retired, Sebastian, who had been Attina's advisor as he had been her father's, is not pleased when Attina hires Marina del Rey as her adoptive son's governess without telling him, and advises against skipping over her sisters and their children by naming him the heir to Atlantica. Of course, it's also made worse when it's revealed that Attina has considered having Marina replace Sebastian, something they both overhear and have different feelings about. Given how quick the promotion is, Marina, who has had a life of failure and misfortune, starts to act more sophisticated, becoming power-hungry at the prospect of having the queen's ear. Ariel communicates with her sisters about the growing tension within the palace (which has grown IMMENSELY to cater to the growing families within it, btw), and they notice that her son isn't adjusting well thanks to all of it. They persuade her to hold back on any further discussion of replacing Sebastian at least until her son becomes king (though Sebastian wants it to be until he himself is dead), to which Attina agrees to, infuriating and hurting Marina, as she now believes she did something wrong and wasn't doing her job correctly. To imitate Sebastian, she becomes more controlling and opinionated around the royal family, overstepping her boundaries to the point where she puts Attina in danger by trying to show herself better than Sebastian. During a fight, she injures Ariel and is promptly imprisoned, to which Sebastian seriously considers retirement, though Attina now says it must be his choice, and he says that the day may come sooner than expected. He also asks Attina not to be too hard on Marina, as everyone becomes aggressive when vying for recognition and power, and Melody (having heard about Marina), jokingly suggests she becomes Melody's governess as punishment, and Ariel jokingly considers it, scaring Melody.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame II--While Disney can't go as dark as the original film when wanting to market a straight-to-DVD sequel, they do keep a lot of the elements. Here, Quasimodo's focus is on discovering more about Romani culture, as well as trying to track down any family he might have out there (which Phoebus has used his connections to help with). Zephyr, who's character design has a darker palette, is also eager to learn about his Romani heritage, though Phoebus is worried that this will "only get him into trouble" since Paris hasn't forgotten their prejudice on Romani people, both of which frustrate Esmeralda. Madelaine is a Romani woman who is trying to buy safe passage into Paris from the swindling Sarousche, who traffics and manipulates people in order to gain political power. Unlike Frollo, who truly believed himself to be righteous and the Romani people as evil, Sarousche is a bit more nuanced, willing to do whatever it takes to control Paris, hoping to eventually gain favor with the nobility. However, this is squashed when Madelaine falls for Quasimodo and refuses to assist him in bringing the city under his heel. As such, Sarousche uses the still existing hatred for Romani people and props them as a scapegoat for all his criminal activity, which the townsfolk find easier to believe because he isn't as intimidating as Frollo and comes off as more likeable.
Mulan II--Rather than the film talking about an alliance with Qui Gong over the threat of the Mongols, the film instead structures Qui Gong as a rival country with mounting tension between them and China. It is believed that Qui Gong has a much larger army and resources than China does at present, as China is still rebuilding from the devastation of the Huns. As such, the mission given to Mulan and company is to infiltrate Qui Gong and act as spies (though presenting as ambassadors) in order to relay pivotal information back to China. Since leaving the army, Mulan has adhered to traditional feminine roles expected of her, but given her status as a war hero, the standards aren't as strict and are more forgiving (and let's imagine she let her hair grow out rather than keeping it short to fit the cultural standard). That said, she still works to keep in shape and does miss her adventures, and jumps at the opportunity to fulfill the emperor's infiltration mission. Unfortunately, it's quickly decided that despite her skillset, she would likely be too recognizable as the woman who saved China. Her relationship with Shang is at a high, and she introduces him to Mushu. Rather than the threat of Mushu being replaced by Shang's family guardians, Mushu's concern is that he realizes Shang is (not maliciously) replacing him as Mulan's confidant, advisor, and best friend, thus leading him to want to prove his usefulness to her, as he is a divine dragon, while Shang is a regular mortal. However, he inadvertently ruins things when Mulan decides to join her friends on the infiltration mission out of concern for their safety (paralleling her mission to join the army for her father in the first film). Rather than posing as a man, Mulan poses as an ultra-feminine lover of Shang's, very demure and unimposing. Mushu attempts to dissuade her from getting herself hurt by reminding her that she said that part of her decision to join the army the first time was because she wanted to prove something, and this was a lot more dangerous being in enemy territory. Hurt by his accusations that she's just doing this out of pride and accusations that her relationship with Shang is strengthened by her adherence and obedience to him, Mulan tells Mushu not to get involved, and when word of Mulan being in Qui Gong starts to circle the kingdom, Mushu quickly reverses it, claiming that there was no woman involved in the defeat of the Huns; instead it was Fa Ping, disguised as a woman named Mulan, who subdued the Huns. Lord Qin grows suspicious and questions the "ambassadors," with Chien-Po, Yao, and Ling coming off as too stupid to be spies, but they grow suspicious of Shang and take him as a prisoner, with the rest of the gang being placed under close watch, not allowed to leave the kingdom. Mulan is enraged at Mushu despite his attempts to help, and enlists the help of Zhenzhen, Ruyun, and Jingshu (in place of princesses Ting-Ting, Su, and Mei; names taken from "WuKong"), three single noblewomen who fell for her friends. The noblewomen woo their way into finding out where Shang is kept, while Mulan and her friends plot to get him out, as well as Shang assisting Shang in staging his own rescue. While all this is happening, it's heavily implied that the masses of Qui Gong do not approve of Lord Qin, who is power-hungry and volatile, and instead would like to see his more temperate and pragmatic son Jeeki take the throne. Upon gaining enough support, the prince imprisons his father and vows to deescalate the tension between Qui Gong and China, allowing the Chinese warriors to leave as well as giving his blessing for Mulan's friends to marry the noblewomen as a sign of peace, and as a result, Chien-Po, Ling, and Yao decide to say in Qui Gong to stay with their loves and make sure the prince keeps his word. As Mulan and Shang return home, she forgives Mushu, and discussions of their wedding are planned.
Kronk's New Groove--Having been Yzma's trophy guy for the last couple of years and being a victim of her schemes as well as an accomplice, he does some soul-searching as to what he wants in life. Not one to waste a good resource and still having Yzma's influence embedded in him somewhat, Kuzco hires him to be one of his chefs, which Kronk enjoys. Of course, Yzma (who is semi-cat now thanks to experimenting a bit more now that she doesn't have access to her lab in the palace) is embittered by what she considers a betrayal twice over: first Kuzco with firing her and then Kronk with working for him. Originally she planned to infiltrate the palace as another chef, turn Kronk into a bird, kill him, poison his body, and feed it to Kuzco in one fell swoop--but then she realized her resume wasn't good enough to get in as a chef and instead just opts to turning Kuzco to stone and framing Kronk for it. This works initially, with people reasoning that being Yzma's former assistant meant he was meant for great evil, but Kronk realizes that stone Kuzco isn't safe from whoever turned him to stone, and flees with his body. Having perfected a secret potion she's been working on since the Mesozoic era (I'm kidding), she turns herself into a beautiful young woman who looks similar to Kuzco, and proclaims that she is his twin sister who was given away to escape Yzma's clutches. Seeing how mean Kuzco used to be and how this new woman has a clean slate (and the fact that the people are pretty forgiving), Yzma is made empress. With the help of Pacha, his family, and Miss Birdwell (maybe we do a different last name for her), Kronk is eventually able to recall his science time with Yzma to concoct an antidote for Kuzco, who returns and demands Yzma renounce the throne. Most of the populace has no idea who she truly is except for Kuzco while Kronk and the others have their suspicions, and while she goes down fighting, she herself is eventually turned into gold, and Kuzco comments that she'd make an excellent fountain.
Cinderella II: Dreams Come True--Rather than three ministories, the overarching tale focuses on Cinderella adjusting to palace life, from the glamorous sides to the political sides. Originally, the king (who would be given a name here as well as the prince) is overbearing and insists upon being a part of the couple's lives due to wanting to have grandkids, as carried over from the first film. While Cinderella, being the agreeable person she is and new to the courtly environment, acquiesces to his desires, the prince is more rebellious, causing the father and son to be at odds. The prince, while kind and intelligent, is portrayed as somewhat immature, this occuring after his mother's death and the result of his father's micromanaging, and the king focuses on training Cinderella personally for being queen, which she takes with fervor. In contrast to the prince, who took more interest in artistic pursuits (dancing, singing, painting, horticulture, etc), Cinderella proves to excel at academic education, and it makes her recall when she was young and both her parents were alive. Being a young noblewoman, she had a bit of an edge on other women at the time and had a broader education, but when Lady Tremaine ruled over the chateau, her education fell to the wayside, and she only learned through the various chores she had to undertake, or when she happened to be around Lady Tremaine when she was teaching Anastasia and Drizella. Sharing her experience with her parents to the prince, he reconciles with his father, and the king becomes slightly hands-off and letting the prince make certain decisions. Anastasia and Jaq' tales are interwoven here, with human Jaq serving to assist Cinderella in navigating her new life while Cinderella introduces Anastasia to the courtly life she thought she wanted, though she instead goes for the baker (which Cinderella suspected she'd do).
Oh, and give Cinderella a better outfit than just recoloring her classic dress.
Cinderella III: A Twist in Time--Mostly the same, tbh. The only thing I'd add are more insight into Lord Tremaine. He's never shown or spoken about in any of the films, but shedding light on him and his relationship with Lady Tremaine could explain Anastasia's views on love. Perhaps they originally had a happy marriage, and Lady Tremaine became bitter when he died, and Anastasia sticks by her because she (and Drizella) has no one else. Or perhaps Lady Tremaine schemed her way into marrying her husband, thus why Anastasia and Drizela aren't (entirely) against doing so with the prince. Or maybe both Lady and Lord Tremaine were terrible people, but they respected each other, and Anastasia reasons that you can make concessions when marrying someone; even if it doesn't start out as love, it can still be fufilling.
Hope you enjoyed it! What was your favorite Disney sequel that went straight to DVD? Lemme know if you liked any of my remake ideas.

Inspired by @airasora post, here my answers, and then my ships.
HUGE UPDATE: @little-bloodied-angel I agree Jessica Rabbit could definitely be skinship as she seems a naturally cuddly person and I am very similar, so thank you for your explanation on the term.
I marked both few times as I am open to both. 22, I feel it likely I could want skinship with a hypothetical partner (I am single), yet I feel it depends too. Anyone surprised by my answers? XD I only chose roses for 23 as black roses, blood roses, and lavender roses I adore. Yes a guy I both given and got flowers from past relationships.
Now to my ships.
Tiana (Bi) x Jessica Rabbit (Ace Bi) = Jessna
Miguel (Gay) x Shang (Bi) = Mang
Kuzco (Gay) x Hercules (Demisexual Panromantic) = Herco
Amalthea (asexual straight) X Frodo* (demisexual biromantic) = Amdo
*= I know there two animated LOTR movies, and yes both Frodos to ship with Amalthea
Jasmine (Bi) x Odette (Lesbian) = Jasette
Chel (Bi) X John Rolfe (Demisexual Bi) = Jel
@little-bloodied-angel I was unsure to do my Poly ship of Esmeralda X Belle (and X) Kida X Mulan = BEDM, so my bad if seem excluded.
Esmeralda (Pan) X Belle (Demisexual) = BeEs
Kida (demiromantic, non-binary) X Mulan (queer, non-binary)

Disney songs that hit different when you're queer
"Reflection" Mulan (specifically if you're transgender)
"I'll Make A Man Out of You" Mulan (the transmasc euphoria song)
"Jack's Lament" the Nightmare Before Christmas
"Part of Your World" the Little Mermaid
"God Help the Outcasts" the Hunchback of Notre Dame
"I'm Still Here" Treasure Planet (specifically my transmasc anthem but my experiences are not universal)
"Out There" the Hunchback of Notre Dame (when you're closeted)
"Waiting On a Miracle" Encanto (when you're queer and religious)
"One of Us" Lion King 2
"How Far I'll Go" Moana ( when the people who raised you wouldn't let you be exposed to any queer media)
"Colors of The Wind" Pocahontas (the only good thing the Pocahontas franchise brought us was the soundtrack. When my friend was closeted she said to a girl who was being blatantly homophobic " you think the only people who are people are the people that look and think like you." Stopped her in her tracks!)
"Kiss the Girl" the Little Mermaid (but specifically when. You know what I mean lmao)
"When Will My Life Begin" Tangled
"Go The Distance" Hercules
"I Won't Say I'm In Love" Hercules
"One Jump Ahead (reprise)" Aladdin
"Proud of Your Boy" Aladdin Broadway musical
"If I Never Knew You" Pocahontas
Do feel free to add. Just don't let Disney see this

Return of Jafar - Rewrite (Pt 4)
(Part 1)
“Are… Are you sure this way is safe?”
Aladdin looked back at the young princess. “Yeah, why?”
The bandit horse couldn’t be less perturbed but the tiny young princess riding it was nervously looking at the flat heat-baked ground. “There’s so many cracks around here. Like the land will fall apart under us at any moment.”
“It won’t fall apart.” Aladdin chuckled. “The only danger in the Cracked Plateaus comes during the day. It gets so hot out here, even camels barely stand it.”
“What?” Princess Dia’mah looked behind her. “But the nomad said this path was safe.”
“It is!” Aladdin pulled back on the flying carpet’s rim and floated to the girl’s side. “See, this place gets so bad during the day that bandits never camp or stake-out on the Plateau. It’s actually one of the safest places to travel at night.”
“Does that mean you come this way often?”
“No, but someone I knew a long time ago did.” Aladdin sat back on Carpet. “Told me all sorts of little secrets of the desert like that.” He looked out into the night. The shimmering moonlight on the dune, cresting like ocean waves frozen in time. The gentle winds stirring the grains of sand on the surface. After a moment, Abu jumped out of Aladdin’s lap and climbed his shoulder to see what his partner was looking at. Nothing but the horizon. “They traveled this desert long before I was even born,” He chuckled. “And I’ll probably need to spend the rest of my life traveling to see as much as they have.” Especially since it wouldn’t be long until…
“Can there really be that much to see out here?”
Aladdin looked at the princess. The desert started to light up. “Wow, see for yourself.”
The princess turned her horse around and gasped. A massive comet in the cloudless night, bright red as a roaring fire, sky streaked off farther and farther into the distance. “Goodness!”
“Wheow.” Abu squeaked.
Dia’mah watched until the faintest hint of light faded from sight. All the tutors and teachers that got paraded into her palace chambers her whole life to educate her never spoke of such a sight. Then again, she had never heard of nomads coming to the rescue of outsiders nor flying carpets, ‘Cave of Wonders’ or diamonds in the rough. The more she thought, the less anything she’d gone through today was like anything she had ever known. “I need to get out more.”
-------
Nearly there. Nearly there. Having to carry a camel, a cobra and a dirty drifter was hardly any price for getting what he wanted. Agrabah. And he would have it. All of it. The bondages of slavery wouldn’t stop him. The petty laws of genie magic could be circumvented.
“Hey!”
Jafar glanced down at the woman and rolled his eyes. She’d be a stubborn thing, that was certain. What was the world coming to that women like her and that insufferable Princess Jasmine seemed to be cropping up everywhere he looked? Just focus. Get to Agrabah. Find someone to kill Aladdin. Make the woman wish him free.
“Gods above.”
Jafar glanced down again. The woman had climbed out of his grip and now stood in the crook of his arm. He felt only the slightest amount of force as she pushed her hand into his skin. Jafar smirked. She was admiring him. As one should, of course. After her brief pause, the woman climbed up and reached Jafar’s shoulder. She grabbed his long golden earring. “Hi, remember me?”
“Should I?” Jafar smirked, hearing her groan.
“You’re taking me to a port town, aren’t you?”
Jafar gave her a look. How did she…?
“Air by water just feels different from desert air and big bodies of water plus ‘city’ equals port town.” The woman laughed before continuing. “I usually try to avoid port towns, for the record. Ever since I got stuck in one for years, I can’t stand them anymore. Had to leave the whole Seven Deserts for five years just to recover… from…”
Before the city could crest above the dunes in the night, a towering palace rose into view; a grand white marble monument to decadence topped with massive golden domes on every tower and corner of heavily guarded fortress walls.
“Agrabaaaaaah!” The woman cried. Jafar felt a slight force from the woman kicking him in the neck. “You jerk! You did this on purpose! This is for the ‘Master’ thing, isn’t it?”
“Perhaps.” Jafar lied.
“Fine. I can still work with this.” The woman leaned forward, still holding onto the genie’s earring. “Set us down, gently, somewhere in the middle of the city. I know a place I can stay the night.”
Jafar just gave the woman a look. Just get to the palace. Then… make up something. Lay low, keep the woman busy and think of a way to have someone kill Aladdin. The woman was yelling and pointing at the palace. The guards. Razoul. That uncouth dog of a man hardly needed a reason to end a life before. More yelling. As for the other guards, Jafar could make more gold than any man could ever dream of now. They would obey willingly enough. A loud disgusted groan. Nothing would get between him and revenge.
Jafar slammed to a stop, his cuffs hitting the arbitrary invisible wall yet again. The woman jumped off and held tight to her staff. A white light ran down its length and a small whirlwind rushed into existence around her. The vortex caught the falling camel and slowed him just enough before tossing him onto a flat rooftop.
“What?!” Jafar looked down to see the woman attending to her camel. Wait, something shiny on the roof. His lamp! The genie quickly dove down and reached for his prison. The sand littering the roof swirled into a streak of dust and pulled the lamp away across the roof until it was caught by the handle with the butt end of a staff. Jafar growled. “What do you think you’re doing, woman?”
The nomad lifted the black lamp up with her staff and grabbed it with her free hand. “I think I just saved all our lives, you moron! You were heading for the palace! Do you have any idea what kind of danger you almost got us into, IDIOT?!”
“Don’t you dare take that tone with me!”
Iago landed on a barrel behind the woman and started making a cutting motion across his neck. “Cut it out! Cut it out! We. Had. Her. On. Our. Side.”
“Y-you don’t understand how bad that almost was!” The woman was breathing heavily. “We… we coulda… Coulda--!”The woman paced back and forth. “We-- no, no, no, no, no, Gotta go, keep moving, keep moving.” She stopped and turned to the genie. “In the lamp, now!”
“No.” Saying that word sent a highly unpleasant sensation through Jafar’s cuffs. He clawed into the metal bands and continued. “I may be forced to grant wishes but I will not--!”
The woman hooked her staff into her satchel and put her freed hand just above the lamp. A faint red mist formed on the surface of the lamp, thin and delicate that started gently twisting around her fingers. An invisible web of warmth formed. Her fingers danced on the magic threads like harp strings.
Jafar felt gentle stroking on his back, like the brushing of a feather fan on his skin. “What are you doing…” The genie growled.
The web of warmth solidified into a pocket of heat, a plate of energy on either side of the lamp. She stuck her thumb and pinky on the hidden plates. Jafar gasped. Nothing around him, and yet he felt as though something was grabbing him. The woman put her middle finger on the lamp spout. Something pushed down on Jafar’s neck.
She pulled her fingers up, dragging the heat with them. Jafar’s gold bands rose into the air like he was being hung by his arms. The woman moved her hand forward, leading the red mist towards Jafar. The mist connected to the plume that made up the genie’s lower half. The woman made a fist and threw her hand back.
Jafar was yanked forward very forcefully. The black lamp shuttered and the genie’s body started shifting into more of the cloud, with the last of him quickly vanishing inside the lamp “Iago!”
Iago let out a gasp before covering his beak. No people-talking to others. He cleared his throat and took off for the woman. “Uh, The lamp! Rub the lamp!”
“Om Namah Shivay, Om Namah Shivay.” The woman pushed past Iago and walked to the half wall lining the rooftop. “Om Namah Shivay, Om Namah Shivay. Om Tat Purushaya Vidmahe Mahadevaya Dhimahi Tanno Rudra Prachodayat.”
“Rub… the… uh…” Iago landed on the short wall. The woman had a thousand mile stare. Whatever, just get the lamp and go. Iago stepped over the woman’s shaking hands and stuck his head under her green half-cape. The black lamp shifted about slightly as it hung from her satchel; a pale show of its prisoner’s fury. Iago reached out and grabbed the handle with his beak.
The woman was pulled back, Iago dragged off the wall with her. The parrot fumbled to get a grip on the lamp but his beak slipped off the smooth brass handle and he hit the floor. With a grumble, he got to his feet, shook himself off and looked up.
The camel let go of the scarf in his mouth and wrapped his long neck around his rider. The woman bumped into her mount’s tall steady shoulder and blinked out of her ridgid state. She looked, smiled and put her head against the side of the camel’s. “Thank you, Balavaan.” The cobra slithered part-way up the camel’s neck and stretched out towards the woman. “You too, Mitr.” The snake quickly weaved up the woman’s arm and took his place around her neck. “As for you, Iago…”
Iago flinched from force of habit. No, wait. She didn’t know his secret. He couldn’t be in actual trouble. Iago quietly cleared his throat and flapped his wing as he bounced on his toes. “Iago! Iago!” he squawked.
The woman bent down and held her hand out for the bird. “Let’s get out of the cold.”
